Curtis family · 1828

Letters, 1828 to 1858, among the Curtis family of Brooklyn and their friends, 67 items. Many are from Samuel Curtis, a printer in Mobile, Alabama, to his wife Sarah in Brooklyn, on business, society, politics and religion there. Chapel Hill and the Caldwell Institute also come up, as do Henry Clay, Fanny Kemble, Bogotá and enslaved people in Alabama. At Duke's Rubenstein Library.
