Joseph Logan Irvin (1913 to 1984) taught biochemistry in the School of Medicine at Chapel Hill, and his papers from 1956 to 1973 are collection 4406 in the Southern Historical Collection at UNC. Topics include his research subjects, among them enzyme kinetics and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, and the history of biochemistry as a field.
