Letters of David Paton, the architect who superintended construction of the North Carolina State Capitol in Raleigh, 1834 to 1850. Ithiel Town writes about the building commissioners, Paton's changes to Town's plan and his own work in Indianapolis. Other correspondents include Loammi Baldwin, William Boylan, Romulus M. Saunders and James C. Dobbin, and the letters touch on building materials and a horse railroad. Chapel Hill appears. 137 pages.
