J. J. Young wrote Henry King Burgwyn on 31 July 1863 about the death of his son, Colonel Henry King Burgwyn Jr., of the 26th North Carolina, killed at Gettysburg. A close friend, Young regrets missing his last words, explains why the body could not be brought home and describes where he was buried.
