Forty-nine photographs of central North Carolina landscapes taken by H. H. Brimley, the naturalist of the State Museum, from 1890 to 1910. Many show early roads, among them a long series on a road leading to Charlotte, along with farms, houses, bridges and rivers. Chapel Hill is among the places named.
