Correspondence dominates the papers of Charles Mills (1914-1982), approximately 150 items in one linear foot dated 1937 to 1981, part of the Southern Historical Collection at UNC, collection 4270. Subjects include American authors and novelists he wrote to or about, among them Paul Green, Betty Smith, Archibald Henderson, Robert Fitzgerald and Clare Leighton, and note a personal narrative of the Second World War in Burma. Chapel Hill social life anchors the local tie.
