Grace Aycock (1919-1996), wife of University of North Carolina chancellor William B. Aycock, recalls her life and the social side of running the chancellor's household in Chapel Hill, in a Southern Oral History Program interview recorded March 28, 1990, by Frances A. Weaver. Raised in Greene County in eastern North Carolina in the 1920s and 30s, she spent a year at Duke from 1936 before finishing her degree in 1939 at what is now UNC Greensboro. Published online in 2007 in Documenting the American South.
