Jonathan P. Sneed builds the house on the bluff south of the Eno later called Eno Lodge
Jonathan P. Sneed built a two-story Federal house on the high ground above the Eno across from town. It was later known as Norwood, Eno Lodge and the Eagles' Nest.

Judge John L. Bailey buys the Norwood house south of the Eno and names it Eno Lodge
Superior court judge John Lancaster Bailey bought the house above the Eno from Joseph C. Norwood, probably added the rear ell and north bay, and called it Eno Lodge. He lived there until about the start of the Civil War, when he moved to Buncombe County.
