Mike Fox is named UNC head baseball coach
Athletic director Dick Baddour hired Fox, a former Tar Heel second baseman, as the 24th head coach in UNC baseball history. He came from 15 seasons at N.C. Wesleyan College and took over before the 1999 season.

UNC hosts its first NCAA baseball regional at Boshamer Stadium since
Mike Fox's Tar Heels swept three games at the regional in Chapel Hill, then won the super regional at Alabama and went on to finish second at the College World Series.

UNC closes the original Boshamer Stadium with a super regional win
The Tar Heels beat South Carolina in an NCAA super regional at Boshamer Stadium, the last postseason games in the 1972 stadium, and advanced to the College World Series for the second straight year.

Rebuilt Boshamer Stadium opens on Ridge Road
UNC opened its $26 million rebuilt baseball stadium, on the footprint of the old Boshamer, with a home opener against VMI before about 2,800 fans. Work began in October 2007, and the field was named Bryson Field.

Mike Fox retires as UNC head baseball coach
Fox retired after 22 seasons leading the Tar Heels, with a 948-406-1 record at UNC and seven College World Series trips. His longtime assistant Scott Forbes was named the program's 25th head coach.
