Jim says that he was an avid angler with conventional (regular) fishing equipment ever since his dad bought him his first rod at age five. He was fascinated when his dad did some fly fishing, but he did not really get into it until 1995 when he worked across the street from a fly fishing shop and the owner showed him that fly fishing really was fun. According to Tim, Jim really knows his fly-tying materials.
Tim grew up in Alaska, fishing mostly for salmon and trout. His wife introduced him to fly fishing after he retired from the Army. He loves fly fishing for trout, but fishing in salt water flats he says is a close second. He does some fly tying and builds fishing rods as well.
