approved, pending addition of “Event is being promoted as celebratory opportunity for Friends, Patrons and Volunteers to come together to show staff appreciation and enjoy fellowship.”
This change came about as a result of discussion initiated by Lucinda regarding intended audience of event. Tommy thanked Stacey for taking Minutes in August.
Treasurer's
Report
Tori stated that prior Treasurer has sent spreadsheet, but not log-‐in information for Triangle Community Foundation account.
Book Consignment/Ongoing
Sale
Marcia reported that there has been no recent consignment activity due to Semi-‐Annual Book Sale later this month.
Social Media Monthly
Report
▪ Stacey reported she and Shannon continue to actively post promotion of events to Facebook and Twitter.
▪
Stacey plans to do a “sponsored ad” next week to give a special attention to Book Sale. ▪ Stacey agreed to post notice about Board vacancies, need to finle slate of nominations 30 days in advance to December 5th Annual Meeting. Lori indicates need to create a flyer re Board vacancies to put at Library Front Desk, at Purple Crow and Flyleaf Book Shops, and in window of Hillsborough Arts Council. Stacey offered to make flyer.
Membership
Report
▪ Robin confirmed her personal situation has stabilized, can resume membership duties; given notebook back from Tori who was appreciated greatly for her stepping in to assist with memberships . ▪ Discussed issue of acknowledging new memberships; Stacey & Robin agreed to post a shout-‐out to new members on Facebook.
Lori reinforced need to maintain routine of inputting all new members into spreadsheet and connecting with members individually, either by email or phone calls.
FOCPL Hillsborough’s Last
Friday
▪ Lori-‐Anne reported that she, Stacey and a FOCPL volunteer Mary Wiley had successful experience staffing FOCPL table at August 28th’s Last Friday promoting upcoming events and recruiting volunteers.
▪ Lori declined need to staff table at September 25th’s Last Friday; Tommy thought it important to do and ; volunteered to do so; Robin offered to help him; Stacey agreed to make takeaways with upcoming event information to hand out to people who visit the table. ▪ Robin offered to pay Hillsborough Art Council the $15. monthly event fee for Sept and October at the Hillsborough Art Council.
Tori provided her with a check to make the payment.

Lori agreed to create a list of items needed for table, requesting that Tommy and Robin develop into “outreach kit” for their Sept event.
Fall Book Sale Sept 18-‐20:
▪ Stacey & Lori-‐Anne reviewed plans for entire Sale Weekend, especially 3 outstanding Author Readings! ▪ Lori-‐Anne recruited enough volunteers to fill schedule; at Tommy’s request, Lori agreed to send schedule to Board. ▪ Clarified plans for outreach to preschools; Libby made packets of flyers to deliver; Lori agreed to follow up with Shannon.
▪ Both Libby and Shannon will post notice on websites to ask for final book donations.
Staff
ApreciationFest
▪ Motion approved to increase appreciation gift for staff from $5. to $20 per person.
▪ Staff slow to rsvp, Lori-‐Anne plans to send out reminder email to staff that will include news that amount of gift has been raised, hoping for increase in replies. ▪ In response to request last month by Board, Lori reported on attempts to identify a second food truck; passed around written summary of contacts and information, indicating either food trucks NOT available or require 100 customers per truck, which FOCPL Board cannot guarantee. Will proceed with ChirbaChirba only.
Annual Membership
Meeting
Lori-‐Anne reported plans are beginning to take shape for Author/Poet speakers and em cee. Marcia will work with other Board members or volunteers on catered refreshments from Weaver Street Market in Hillsborough.
Programs, Requests and Ideas
OCPL

Lucinda reported that two new hires are in place, one already started, second to begin 9/21.
▪
Amber Campbell will be working on incorporation of new computer in children’s section of the library.
▪
There will also be a special program in November related to NANOWRIMO beginning with a workshop of local authors on October 7, 2015.
