FOCPL Board of Directors Regular Meeting Minutes, by Julie McManus Stacey Gamble, Chair, Presiding ~ October 12, 2016 ~ Meeting Room, Orange County Public Library, Hillsborough Present: Susan Vreeland, Stacey Gamble, Julie McManus, Harry Kavros, Dee Love, Brian Crawford Absent: Robin Crawford Ex Officio: Andrea Tullos Call to order: 6:00 p.m. by Stacey Gamble September Minutes Review - Harry moved to approve September 14, 2016 minutes; seconded; passed unanimously Board Resignations and Vacancies – Robin and Julie will not return, Lori and Dan submitted resignations. Ads for vacancies on Board have been placed on Facebook. Board will expand to 15 members. Will need bios by 10/28. Annual Meeting – Date is set for 12/3, 10 am. Committee will meet to finalize budget and program, but will include speakers and brunch refreshments. Volunteer Appreciation Event – To schedule 1st week in November at Radius, budget for ~40 attendees, buffet-style.
Committee Reports
• Publicity Committee - tabled until next meeting. • Membership Committee - tabled until next meeting. • Book Sales Committee - Most successful sale ever, proceeds exceeded $4,000. • Finance Committee – Will not have the end of the year records completed by the Annual Meeting. Will present temporary Annual Report at Annual Meeting and finalize and approve complete report in January. • Membership – tabled until next meeting. • By-Laws – Summarized changes to By-Laws will be made public by email, internet, and hard- copy 14 days before Annual Meeting. Library Up-date – Youth Services position filled, strategic planning concluded discovery phase and draft will be ready in November. Press release credits FOCPL and partnerships.
