February:
· Monday 26: Debut of new Piedmont Laureate, Nancy Peacock, 7:00-8:00
March:
· March 4: 12:00-5:00 for a book drive
· 5-12 book sale
April:
· want to do a Last Friday event of some kind
May:
· (or June) reception with David Terry: (Andrea says not June 3)
o Coon Rock farm: Jamie?
o Jonathan Bird (poetry)?
June-July-August:
· June 2: kickoff for summer learning: perhaps a booth/activity
· Music/authors idea: bar sing a long: Jess Kline? Jonathan Bird? Gray Rinehardt (filk)? Will Davis (spoken word poet)? Maybe a summer series of concerts? (just two, late June, late July)
· Summer theme: national: Libraries Rock!
· Meeting room can be available till 11:55, have to bypass the lights.
September-October-November-December:
· Thematic panel readings/discussions
November
· November 4: book drive
· November 5-12 book sale
December:
· Annual meeting: Saturday the 1st, 10:00 a.m.
Library Report:
· Formal request for summer learning and partnership grant coming
· Carrboro:
o Will pilot Apricot
o Working on new building
o Interested in merging the two friends’ groups
Treasurer:
· $200 invoice: Hillsborough Chamber of Commerce: voted unanimously to pay and continue membership
· Lou and Nancy meeting about book sale process
o Moving boxes to meeting room kitchen, then Andrea’s office
o Monday (Stacey) and Thursday (Lou and Nancy) sorting
o Clear file cabinet of older items and archive it: Samantha will help Shannon with this after booksale
o Ongoing booksale in the physical: labels and signage. To make it more obvious. James will help with this.
Ongoing Online Booksale:
· Made $200 so far
· Stacey will pull more books for this
Book Sale:
Shannon will do sign-up genius for book sale shifts.
Thursday refreshments?
Food truck? Saturday 10th of March, 10th of November? June 29 and July 27 concerts?
