BUSINESS
Carrboro friends has residual funds that could be transferred. We need to find out what the procedure is. We could create a welcome letter to all the lifetime members and a separate letter to others encouraging them to join us. We could also include information in the Newsletter to let people know that the two library Friends groups are together. We have renewed our existing insurance but need to negotiate an insurance alternative. We need to clarify what insurance coverage we have and what we need. Diane, Grace, Melissa and William met and reviewed various Memos of Understanding. The next step would be to share with the Board and then pass it along to library staff. They will send us the link to review. We should have a vote from the Board to approve before presenting to library administration. Extraordinary Ventures will take the unsold books after the sale, but they no longer have any trucks. Diane offered to rent a truck again; We have banners and signs but need to get them approved. We have Signup Genius for volunteers, but we can do a test run to see if signup can be done on the website.
William will send out an example of the website with signup included. We may want to look for corporate support for the summer reading program. We could also investigate multiple levels of support or asking businesses around the library to help. September is national library card signup month. William will talk with Nancy to see what we can do to support it, perhaps with a link to joining the Friends. Meeting adjourned 8:12 pm
