Friends of the Orange County Public Library Minutes, June 10, 2021 AGENDA Call to Order 6:30 p.m. Present (via Zoom) Board Members: Shannon Turlington, Grace Johnston, Diane Kelly, Wendy Scott; Library Staff: Nancy Crews 1. FOCPL Business Diane will consult with Shannon regarding an audit of FOCPL financial records. Grace is sending renewal reminders to members 2. Library Update Nancy reported that the County Manager has approved additional access to the library that will allow patrons to enter the building. The plan to begin on July 6 will provide curbside services from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and browsing and computer use in the library from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The library is promoting a one-hour limit on visits. The library is not yet able to accept book donations or hold book sales. Nancy reports that with the closing of the space at McDougle Middle School, the library’s selectors are adding materials from that collection if they are needed and boxing up discards for future Friends sales. Nancy also reported that new shelving is being installed for the ongoing Friends sale inside the library. Summer Reading program began on June 7. Participants received their books with registration via curbside pickup. 3. OYNTT Programming June’s program to be held on Father’s Day (June 20) is about fishing featuring anglers Jim Coveney and Tim Wipperman The next meeting will be held on July 8 via Zoom. The Library meeting room is not yet open for public use. Meeting adjourned at 7:00 p.m.
