Funding request: summer learning: proposal will come via email for email vote
Thanks for support of recent author event and upcoming ones on schedule.
Looking for some adult events: considering a mystery event. Maybe put together with the NaNoWriMo event? An October lead up event? (Proust questionnaire, character planner)
Storywalk idea in one of the parks. Parks and Rec is interested.
Task Force meeting: Chapel Hill Library request for funding. Recommendation decision: same amount they’ve been providing for years (not in line with what the task force recommended).
6) OLD BUSINESS
A) Staff lunch: successful; we only need about ½ as much food as we ordered next time.
B) Next book sale dates: Wednesday, Sept. 13 – Sunday, Sept. 17th (setup Wednesday and Thursday, Members-only sale Thursday evening, last hour Sunday free books to teachers/nonprofits)
-looking for ways to expand awareness of teachers/nonprofits time
-different pickup group for books that don’t sell (Maureen Berner)
