1) CALL TO ORDER/ESTABLISH QUORUM (6/11): 7:02 called to order Mark Alexander, Diane Decker, Grace Johnston, Diane Kelly, Marc Miller, Jen Tolliver- via Zoom. Shannon Turlington, Wendy Scott, Meg Stouffer

Absent

2) APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM LAST MEETING- approved

3) TREASURER’S REPORT- $18,741.16 in checking, Money market $17,510.67, Total $36,250.92. PayPal donations alone since October $834.54.

4) MEMBERSHIP REPORT- 140 active members. 5 gifts since our last meeting, down a bit since November. Maybe a reminder email with something specific would be motivation for year

end gifts.

5) LIBRARY REPORT- Jan 12 author Jill McCorkle event. Book giving tree is extended as books are still coming in. Staff found original artwork while cleaning, possibly for Friends to sell.

6) OLD BUSINESS - None 7) NEW BUSINESS

A) Recap of 2023 accomplishments

Joined state-wide friends group last year, would like to again- $35 approved Added Tess and Jen to board

Two great book sales

Added signs

Hosted staff appreciation

Several author events

NaNoWriMo

Started talking about book trail

Funded professional development for library, gifts for readers, furniture for neurodivergent.

B) Elections

1) Directors a) Present slate- everyone is happy staying. b) Nominations accepted from the floor c) Vote- approved

2) Officer positions a) The officers have changed slightly for next year. Diane Kelly 1s President. Shannon Turlington is replacing Melissa Bourbon as Vice President, and Grace Johnston is adding the Treasurer role to her Membership role and will do both roles. Jennifer Tolliver remains as secretary.

b) Vote- approved

C) Children’s Book Illustration Collection 1) furniture fundraiser — update on amount raised 2) presentation by William and Cora McLean about the art collection- 3 year old

daughter and dad’s art collection. Has gotten great feedback from the community. He’d be happy to do a tour and share more of their collection.

Request from the Library from the Friends- $1,992 requested for furniture for sensory items.

Request to move meetings from second to third for convenience, January 18 will be the next meeting
