LIBRARY REPORT

The book giving tree donation project will begin October 1 and run through December. Other upcoming events include a Teen Spooky Craft project and a celebration of Smoky the Bear’s 80th birthday. The new fire marshal and a forest ranger will attend the Smoky the Bear event. It is also National Library Card month, and various local businesses are doing promotions to support it.

BOOK SALE DISCUSSION

The next book sale will be scheduled March 19 through 23. Setup will be on the 19th. Members only sale will be on the 20th.

BUSINESS

The Cosby/Pruitt Discussion Event will take place on 10/04 at 7:00 pm. Diane Decker and Shannon Turlington volunteered for the Friends table at the event.

The upcoming write-in event will feature a write-in session (with prizes) in the morning and a horror fiction speaker in the afternoon. This event will no longer be associated with NaNoWriMo.

The story walk project is ongoing. The board approved up to $600 for installation. Parks and Recreation will deliver the materials.

We will not be participating in the Hillsborough holiday parade.

The Board approved $500 for the giving tree project. Orders will be placed with Purple Crow.

Discussion for next meeting should include plans for a library staff recognition event.

We need to ensure that the Baker and Taylor boxes that have been loaned come back to us.

Meeting adjourned at 8:02 pm .
