5) LIBRARY REPORT (Nancy Crews)
Adult Services:
Spotlight Books & Film Club is a new series that alternates book discussions and film viewings with light discussion. The theme of each book or film will often mirror books and films that Main Library's Adult Services is highlighting that month. This month’s film is Nora Rae, March 1, 2:00-4:00 pm.
The First Monday Classics Book Club will meet March 3, 6:30 – 8:30.
Friendly Fabric Fridays Meet-Up will be 3/07, 9:00-10:30 am. Yarn and patterns will be available.
Youth Services:
Fun with Clay for grades 3rd through 5th will be March 6, 4:00-5:00 pm.
Mini-Terrariums: Craft Your Own Greenery World for Grades 6-12 will be March 12, 5:00-6:00 pm
7) BUSINESS
We discussed the Friends tee shirts and agreed that we should mention their availability again in the Newsletter.
Book donations are creeping up, and the circulation staff is becoming overwhelmed.
All Board members need to sign conflict of interest forms and get them in.
Book Sale:
Not many of the 40 volunteers on the list have signed up to help with the book sale. Board members should all sign up on Sign Up Genius so Wendy can tell where the gaps are. We could encourage members to volunteer by highlighting the benefits of staffing the book sale.
Those putting up signs for the book sale should meet at the library at 9:00 am on 3/17.
The book sale banner needs to be reinforced so that it doesn’t sag.
The next book sale will be September 17-21 to coincide with Hog Day.
Laura, Meg and Mark volunteered to be on the audit committee to review our financial records.
The Alex Evanovich program will take place on 7/19 and will be a creative writing program for teens. The honorarium has been waved. The Board approved up to $500 to buy books from Purple Crow for the registered participants.
The Janet Evanovich program will take place on 7/11, and Purple Crow has again agreed to do a 50/50 split with book sales.
The introductory panel for the book walk has been received and will be installed. The ribbon cutting date is not yet determined.
The staff appreciation event date will be 4/16. Jody will book the room and announce the event to the staff. We will approve a budget at the next meeting after we get a count of those attending.
The meeting adjourned at 8:06
