August 21, 2025 MEETING MINUTES
- CALL TO ORDER/ESTABLISH QUORUM – Meeting called to order at 7:03, quorum established. Present: Mark Alexander, Diane Decker, Grace Johnston, Diane Kelly, William McLean, Meg Stouffer, Laura Sumrell, Tess Tessier. Library Staff: Nancy Crews Jody Smith

- TREASURER'S REPORT
Our total bank balance $37,473.85, down $7,317.55 since our last meeting. Cash in is $388.50 from the ongoing book sale, $305.00 in donations and memberships, and $63.29 in interest. Cash out is $7,480.00 to the library for summer programs, $269.89 for SignUp Genius renewal, $229.66 for copies of Alex Evanovich's book, $75.44 for our quarterly sales tax payment, and $19.35 in processing fees.
MEMBERSHIP REPORT
157 active members. Since last meeting, we received ten gifts totaling $310.
LIBRARY REPORT (Nancy Crews)
Nancy shared an Infographic with details of the library’s enormously successful Summer Reading Program.
Business
We approved $270.00 for Signup Genius renewal.
We approved $500 for Story Walk repair. Diane will meet Rodney at the park to do the repairs. The displays may have to be modified or shored up. Damage is probably due to vandalism. Kickoff date for the Story Walk is now set for October 17 at 11:00 am. Meg will be present from the Friends to thank sponsors.
The Alex Evanovich event went very well. She created a comfortable environment, and the kids seemed very engaged.
There will be an overflow area with a screen set up upstairs for the Janet Evanovich event. Those who attend upstairs will be invited to participate in the signing.
We approved Meg Stouffer as our liaison with the Southern Branch.
BOOK SALE
Wendy will get Signup Genius going for volunteers. Signs will go up on September 16.
Wendy, Diane Decker and Meg went over to the Southern Branch to set up a system to select books for the sale, and they will be transported over.
Mark will set up a silent auction.
We need extra volunteers to help bring the book boxes in for setup.
We will have the same price structure as the past sale.
