Intergenerational Storytime

Preschool aged children, along with their caregivers, and local Seniors are invited to a fun-filled interactive program. Enjoy stories, songs, and activities to create timeless friendships.

5) BUSINESS

The staff appreciation event was very successful and came in just under budget.

Tess agreed to sit at the Friends table at the Saturday, June 7th 10:00 – noon Summer Reading Kickoff/Community Resource Fair. We need one more volunteer and will discuss this again in May when everyone better knows their summer schedules.

Alexis Vreeland has offered to order Summer Reading T-shirts for the Friends board. Sizes were collected for those interested. Diane Kelly will pass the orders on to Alexis.

The book sale went very well, but there were problems with the tablet and it had to be replaced. The card reader also failed. We should have a procedure for updates and recharging, and we should have backups for the card readers. Diane will share the book sale instructions document with the board so that it can be updated with everyone’s input. $100 was approved to buy new card readers.

We finally heard from Community Works. They had planned to show up to take the leftover books but it just fell apart.

The mark has been set in the book room for the height limit stacking boxes. The board approved up to $25 to buy strapping tape to tape the boxes for book sorting.

The date for the Janet Evanovich event is still being worked out.

Meeting was adjourned at 7:45 pm.
