  1. CALL TO ORDER/ESTABLISH QUORUM – Meeting called to order at 7:06 pm, quorum established. Present: Lisa Cawley, Diane Decker, Grace Johnston, Diane Kelly (virtually), Meloria Leiser, William McLean, Meg Stouffer (virtually), Tess Tessier. Library Staff: Nancy Crews, Jody Smith
  2. Minutes for November and December, 2025, are approved.
  3. TREASURER'S REPORT 

Total bank balance is $43,839.18, up $347.59 since our last meeting. Cash in is $991.00 in donations and memberships, $282.70 from the ongoing book sale, and $49.63 in interest. Cash out is $472.47 for 150 customized reusable tote bags, $401.74 for the library water cooler, $44.98 for quarterly sales tax payment, $36.55 in processing fees, and $20.00 fee for town signage for the book sale.

MEMBERSHIP REPORT

We have 171 active members. Since last meeting, we received 21 gifts totaling $1,195. However, four of those members and gifts (totaling $350) seem to be for Orange, CA. We have not yet received a reply from the Orange County, CA Friends.

LIBRARY REPORT (Nancy Crews)

January 22, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm Staff Development Day

Risk management updates, Naloxone training, and dementia friendly community training.

January 23, 5:30 pm to 8:15 pm Winter Waffle Movie Night

Teens can indulge in homemade waffles, enjoy a movie screening, and hang out with friends.

January 31, 3:00 to 4:00 pm Winter Awakening Yoga and Meditation

Yoga and guided meditation to rejuvenate the mind, body, and soul. A holistic session guided by the North American Institute of Vihangam Yoga includes breathing exercises, chanting and meditation.

February 7 Take Your Child to the Library Day

9:00 am to 10:00 am Touch a Truck experience

10:15 to 11:00 am Magic Show Performance by Dana Hill Magic

Business

Community Works has closed. Diane has talked to their successor, Extraordinary Ventures. We will wait until they get somewhat established to follow up and gauge interest. We have McKay’s and other alternatives.

Donations at the Southern Branch are doing very well.

$20 is approved for signs ordinance fee.

$200 is approved for book sale banners.

The library staff will promote the book sale at the front desk and will have something to hand out.

William will do a mockup for book marks.

Handouts and book marks could include a QR code for Friends membership.

Take Your Child to the Library will be a large event. Diane Decker and William will staff a Friends table.

Conflict of Interest forms must be done by next meeting.

Melora will help with the financial auditing. We need one more. William will ask Melissa and Wendy.

The next book sale is March 11 to 15. We need to be familiar with new rules for putting up signs.

William will go with Diane Kelly and Grace to get on the bank account.

Our website needs to be updated. William will review and make suggestions.

Tess will staff a table for the Summer Reading program. We need one more.

Melissa will host the staff appreciation luncheon.
