On November 5, 1981, a group of Orange County readers founded the Friends of the Orange County Public Library. The Friends became a corporation in May 1982 and a 501(c)(3) charity in June 1983, and have been raising money and speaking up for the library ever since.
The story, year by year, is on Our History.
